First turns of the year (well not for me) – Blackcomb Hike

We hiked up Blackcomb on Sunday for the first turns of this season. My ski boots are still in Scotland so I was just on foot to take some photos. A great day with great weather! Roll on the storms now please!

Whistler walkabout

I’ve been in town for a week and a half now, it’s been a bit hectic trying to find a place to stay but finally settled down. We’ve had a lot of rain too, which is not unusual for this time of year. In fact it’s been cold enough to snow up in the high alpine. A little early to expect it to stick around but it’s nice to see.

I went for a little walkabout on Sunday and took the camera. People in Whistler love bikes as much as the snow, and as the summer comes to an end it’s the last chance to ride the bike park until next May. The best conditions are usually found at this time. Good times to be a biker!

More Scolty

Back at Scolty this afternoon for a couple of hours to try and get some shots!

Scolty (local trails)

Desperate to take some photos of biking as it has been so long, I went up to some of my local trails today for a few hours. It rained, it was slippy but it was good. Having helped out building a number of trails there it’s cool to see a few people out riding them.

Site reboot and a new start

I wrote a new site to showcase my photos, which will be the homepage from now on. From there you can click on the link to reach this blog. But I guess you know that since you are here already! Since the site has been redesigned I’m restarting the blog. The content was all placeholder anyway. I’ll post up some photos from this summer as a quick recap in a future post.

I’m flying off to Vancouver in under three weeks to try and make the dream a reality. Really pumped at heading back to BC – I’ve been dreaming of going back since the day I left. With a backyard like that you can shoot pictures every day. I’ll be getting the last couple of weeks in the bike park and I will be spending a few days of that shooting photos with the old crew. Expect a lot of actual updates on this site from next month. Life is about to resume.

It’s on.
